Charlotta Hancock Douglas passed away on July 2, 2009. She was born September 8, 1921 in Eden, Arizona to Charles Ira Hancock and Sarah Malena Wilkins. She lived in Eden and attended school in both Eden and Pima. She was a lifelong resident of the Gila Valley. Charlotta married Bert Douglas and they were blessed with 5 children, Jean, Larry, Malena, Charles (deceased), and Ronald (deceased). She loved to play the violin, and played in the EAC Symphony. Later, she played with the Old Time Fiddlers that would play at the Care Centers, dances, and for anyone who wanted hear them. Charlotta liked to do all kinds of crafts which included tole painting, woodworking, jewelry, oil painting, calligraphy, quilting, and much more. She stayed busy with work, church, and family. Charlotta was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sons, 1 son-in law, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter. She is survived by her daughters Jean (Eddie (deceased) Carpenter, Malena (Davis) Stewart, her son Larry (Lanell) Douglas and 1 sister Laura (Eddie) Pierce. 18 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, & 15 great-great grandchildren Funeral services will be held Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Pima Chapel at 10 AM with a viewing beginning at 8:30 AM.
