Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, December 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel with viewing one hour prior. Cheryl will be laid to rest in the Pima Cemetery. Cheryl Jean Doan was born on April 26, 1968, the youngest child of Charles and Della Doan. Cheryl started out her life as a 2 pound baby and spent the first few months in the hospital but after that she was a vivacious young lady. Cheryl has lived in Battle Mountain, Nevada, Tucson, Peoria, and after her fathers passing, moved with her mother to Pima. This way Cheryl and her mom could be close to Cheryl's sister, Cindy. Cheryl always loved the outdoors fishing, swimming, roller skating and hanging out with friends and family, and dancing, we can't forget about dancing and singing. At the age of 14, Cheryl had a stroke that changed her and her familys life forever. The determination Cheryl had helped her overcome a lot of handicaps at first, still swimming and fishing, even graduating from high school. After high school, Cheryl always attended a day program, (she said she was "going to work") Theses programs taught her new and exciting tasks that kept her full of life. The last program Cheryl attended was the Blake Foundation. She spent the last seven years going to the zoo, movies, shopping and tons of little adventures, loving the casino, (and bringing home a nice little "paycheck") Cheryl's health starting failing a few months ago that made it too difficult for her to go to "work" and Cheryl had to start staying home. Cheryl decided to become an angel on December 3, 2009. We all know she is watching over her family, especially her mom and sister, and is taking care of all her special friends. Cheryl has made so many new friends, all becoming an extension of our family. Cheryl is survived by her mother, Della, sisters Cindy (Dale) Stringfellow, Susan Doan, brothers Gary Doan, and Jeff (Sandra) Doan, nephews Ryan (Jade) Elias, and Brian Doan Cheryl is preceded in death by her father Charles. Cheryl's family would like to thank each and everyone who has taken the time to care for Cheryl. Thanks to you all, she has a lived a happy and fulfilling 41 years and we love you all!
