Claudio M. Mingura Jr. age 71 passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2010 at his home. Claudio was born May 1, 1939 in Morenci, Arizona to the late Maria Madrid Sanchez and Claudio Mingura Sr. Claudio graduated from Morenci High School in 1957. He served his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. After completing his career with the Marine Corps he returned to Morenci and started a career with Phelps Dodge where he worked as a Boilermaker Welder until he retired, he was also a member of the Peace Corps and spent time in Central America educating and training students. Upon retiring from Phelps Dodge he moved to Safford. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, volunteering around the community and meeting new people. Claudio was preceded in death by his brother Mike Mingura and his sister Frances Irvine. Claudio is survived by his daughter Serina Munoz (Albert) of Clifton, AZ; two grandson's Steven and Jason Mingura both of Morenci, AZ; brother Dimas Sanchez (Mary) of Solomon, AZ; sisters Emma Maldonado (Arturo) of Solomon, AZ; Anita Fearn (Tom) of Newport Beach California and his lifetime friend and former wife Sylvia Miranda Velasquez; Nephew Rudy Maldonado and several other nieces and nephews. Memorial Services for Claudio will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 6 p.m. at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
