Cletis Mullins

September 25, 1934 — June 3, 2013

Lee Cletis Mullins, born September 25, 1934 in Blythedale, Missouri, to Truman and Clarice Ward Mullins, passed away June 3, 2013 at his home in Safford after a short illness. Cletis moved to Arizona as a young boy from Missouri. He attended school in Morenci and Clifton, graduation from Clifton High School in 1953. He worked for his father in the family car dealership (Mullins Motors) in Clifton and eventually became a partner. After selling the business in 1976 he worked as a dispatcher for Greenlee County Sheriffs office and eventually head of maintenance for Greenlee County. Cletis enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his joy was his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Cletis married his high school sweetheart, Norma Carlile, in 1953 and they had three loving daughters together. Cletis and Norma were married for 60 years. Cletis was a caring, loving and devoted husband, father, son and friend. Cletis leaves behind, his loving wife Norma, his three daughters, Jeannie (Michael) Burns of Clifton, Trudy (Marshall) Losey of Winslow, and Janice (Tom) Lovett of Duncan. Eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Bobby) Wilbanks, Valerie (Alex) Madrid, Lacy (Mike) Eure, Victor (Isabel) Sanchez, Larry (Shawna) Morgan, Chris (Alexis) Lovett, Mark (Amanda) Burns, Michelle (Steve) White, and eighteen great-grandchildren. Cletis was predeceased by his parents Truman L. Clarice Ward Mullins and great granddaughter Victoria Sanchez. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the New Life Church, 3454 South Hwy 191 Safford, AZ 85546, with Dr. Phil Tutor officiating.
