Clifford Lang Sept. 7, 1946 - May 31, 2021 At the age of 74, Clifford was called home to be with the Lord. He was born on September 9, 1946, in Bylas, AZ to William Sr and Katherine (Kitcheyan) Lang. He was one of twelve siblings and they are Thelma McCabe, Veda Pike, Norman Lang, Kenneth McBride (deceased), Victoria, Victor, William Jr., Corene, Myrna, Floyd, and infant Lang. On April 15, 1956, the family mourned the loss of their mother Katherine, soon after the family along with their father relocated to the Thatcher/Safford area. Dad attended 1st-7th grade at Thatcher schools, 8th-9th grade at Safford schools. September 2, 1961, the children mourned the loss of their father William Lang Sr, the family was taken in by other family members the late Amy Kitcheyan (Aunty) and the late Roy (Uncle) and Laverna Kitcheyan. Clifford completed 10th-12th grade at Fort Thomas High School and obtained his high diploma in May 1964. In 1968 Clifford was drafted by the United States Army and served 1 year in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1970. He then began working with San Carlos Police Department as a juvenile officer. Went to Phnx- Worked as Assistant manager at the service station. In late 1975 he began working with the San Carlos Apache Tribe under the CHR program operating an ambulance. During this time Vernon James began working on grants with the Kaiser Foundation in which 2 ambulances were purchased. We (Clifford, Leander, Davis, Alred Sr., Sam Boni, Gilbert Natsyn, Michael Stevens, etc) attended 3-week training with Phoenix College. Leander and he both passed the State Certification, soon after the contract was signed by Indian Health Services which marked the beginning of SCAT-EMS program in 1978. This is where he began his career as an EMT, EMT Supervisor, EMS Director, and EMS Billing Coordinator. The year 1988, he married his beautiful Margie (Moses) Lang, they share 3 daughters together (Shalyn Lang, Jennifer Duncan & LaKisha Lang) and has two older children Sharon Lang and Darrell Lang Sr. Dad was blessed with grandchildren Shaylee, DeJuan, Jon-Nisha, DeShae, Jada, Jayden, Darin, Demetris, Dechambre, Leigah, Derek, Dion, Darrell Jr, Mallory, Keevin, Tregan, Vatorie and 19 great-grandchildren. Grandpa always made sure that every Sunday that he fed his family his famous fluffy pancakes, they were the best. Clifford was an active member of the San Carlos Veterans Association. He enjoyed traveling with Brother Bob Boni to various locations to share the work of God and gospel music. Clifford loved to play his bass guitar, while on the road Clifford would speak of the lineup of music they should play. It didn't take him long to pick up on the music notes. Clifford is survived by his beautiful wife Margie Lang, his children Shalyn (Laurence) Harvey, Jennifer (Jon) Duncan, LaKisha Lang, Sharon Lang, Darrell Sr (Vicki) Lang, Siblings: Thelma McCabe, Veda Pike, Norman Lang, Shirley(Tex) Kitcheyan, Esther Upshaw, Vonda Moses, Velda(Peterson) Harvey, Terry(Cordella) Moses, Dorothy(Valentine) Henry along with is beloved 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and his dog Oreo. A wake will be held on Friday, June 11th at 3:00 p.m. at the Lang residence with the funeral service being held on Saturday, June 12th at 1:00 p.m. at the Ernest Stanley Memorial Hall with interment in the Bylas Veteran's Cemetery following services.
