Colleen Pollock was born in Waynoka, Oklahoma July 14, 1927 to Fred and Gail Carver. She spent most of her young life in Oklahoma and Texas in the summers. Colleen moved to Payson, Arizona during her high school years. Her Grandfather owned and operated a cattle ranch there. In Payson, she had many animals that she loved and cared for. After high school she moved with her mother to Los Angeles, CA and subsequently moved to Winslow, AZ where she was a teletype for the Santa Fe railroad. She loved to dance and one night met her future husband, Jack Pollock at a dance. After he asked her to dance, he really didnt care to dance with the other girls because she was such a good dancer. They were married in Prescott, in 1949 and had 2 daughters Norma Pollock (Brown) and Janine Pollock (Carpenter). Colleen and Jack owned and operated Pollocks Western & Casual Wear, originally opened in 1961 on Main Street and moved to its current location on Hwy 70 in 1972. Her mother Gail was also an active employee in the business. She bought apparel, accessories and tack for the store actively until 1995. She was very active in the Womens Emblem Club, was a committee member for the PRCA Rodeo and enjoyed the Bowling League. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jack Pollock, daughter Norma (Chuck) Pollock Brown, nephew Jacob (Brandy) Carpenter, and grandchildren: Payton Brown, Devon Brown, Derek Brown, Tyler Carpenter, Jaeden Carpenter and Evan Carpenter.
