Concepcion Connie Benavidez of Safford entered into eternity on November 11, 2014 in Gilbert, AZ with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 11, 1929 to Manuel and Amelia Carrillo in Newell, South Dakota. She was the oldest of three children. At the age of three her family moved to Solomon, AZ where she attended school. At a young age, her and her siblings were left orphaned and moved to Clifton, AZ to live with relatives. It was there she met the love of her life. Roman Benavidez and they were married on August 14, 1948. They had four sons, Frank Benavidez, Steve (Dolores) Benavidez, Sam (Peggy) Benavidez, Chuck (Bridget) Benavidez, and one daughter Kathy (Lyle) Lawson. They moved to Safford in 1978 and they both enjoyed the many years with their grandkids. Her favorite pastime was reading her bible and telling others about her Savior. She is preceded in death by her husband Roman. She is survived by her 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Her celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the New Life City Church, with Dr. Philip Tutor officiating. Viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery.
