Concepcion Rios

Concha Cervantez Rios, 92, of Safford, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Haven at Safford Care Center. She was born on December 25, 1920 in San Jose, AZ, to Marin Cervantez and Francisca Tapia Cervantez. She married Jesus Arrellin Rios in 1940 in Solomon. Jesus entered into rest in 1991. Concha lived in the Gila Valley her whole life. She loved to sing and dance. She was a wonderful mother, homemaker and cook for her family. She is survived by her sons, Ignacio (Socorro) Rios of Safford, Angel (Debbie) Rios of Gardena, CA, and Pat Rios of Safford; daughters, Irene (Todd) Romero of Willcox, and Mary Lou Rivas of Safford; a brother, Gilbert (Teresa) Tapia of Sierra Vista; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Ricky Rios, and son-in-law Joe Rivas. Viewing will be from 9- 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with Rosary being led at 10 a.m. and Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Rev. Father George Kunnel. Interment will follow in the Safford Cemetery.
