Consuelo Connie Ruiz age 88, born January 22, 1922, resident of San Jose, AZ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 20, 2010. She is preceded in death by her parents Miguel Maldonado, Beatrice M. Soto, and stepfather Manuel Soto, two sisters, Guenoveva Arrellin, Maria Maldonado, and brother Luciano Maldonado. Preceded also by her first husband of 35 years, Santiago Carrasco, and her three loving sons Jim, Ernesto, Michael Carrasco, and a great-granddaughter Seleana. Survived by her husband of 31years Juan Ruiz, sister Nellie (Alex), brothers Rafael(Mary), Arturo (Emma), Pete (Louisa), Roberto (Lita) and two loving daughters Rachel (Alfonso), and Mary (Rudy) both from Tucson. Missing her also will be her 19 grandchildren, and 43 great-grandchildren, along with countless numbers of nieces, nephews, step-children, cousins, and many other family and friends. Our Mom/Grandma Connie has lovingly kept this family together through all the good times and bad times, she always saw the good in all of us, and did everything to try and make us see the good in ourselves. She never had favorites when it came to her kids, and grandkids, but she always made each of us feel like we were always the favorite one. We are all so blessed to have our hearts touched by such a loving and caring women, and we hope to honor her memory by continuing to do the same in our families, in the years to come. A special thank you goes out to her daughter Rachel for doing a great job of taking care of our precious grandma Connie. Services will be conducted in the St. Rose of Lima Church on Monday, April 26 with Viewing begining at 9 a.m., Rosary at 10 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. Connie will be laid to rest in the San Jose Cemetery.
