Curtis B. Rimer, son of Rudy and Sue (Cowan) Rimer, entered into his heavenly rest, "to be absent with the body is to present with the Lord (2 Cor 5:8)," on April 8, 2019. Curt was 55 years old and had recently moved to Henderson.
Sadly, Curt's life was taken from us too soon. We are comforted in that "those who sow with tears, will reap with songs of joy." We may never fully understand the events that led to Curt's passing on this side of heaven. Although we are disheartened, we trust the Lord who says, "Vengeance is mine."
Curtis was a full-time member of the Louisiana National Guard until kidney disease and subsequent transplant led to a military medical retirement. Curt and his family then moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to family.
One of the accomplishments that Curt was most proud of was returning to school in order to get his bachelor's degree. He was thrilled to graduate from Baldwin Wallace University in 2014 and was an active member of the Veteran Student Service Organization.
Prior to his recent move to Henderson, NV, he was employed by Cleveland State University as a Human Resources Consultant.
A celebration of Curt's life will be held on June 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Glory Light Assembly of God Church, 924 S First Avenue, Safford, AZ, followed by a Military Honor ceremony at the Safford City Cemetery. Services will be officiated by his father, Rev. Rudy Rimer, Senior Pastor of Calvary Temple Church, Oil City, PA, where Curt was the church administrator for many years.
Curt's remains will be interred at Safford City Cemetery in Arizona near his grandparents, Bill and Betty Cowan following church services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to:
