Dale Horne Olson Ollie Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Dale Horne Olson, age 75, passed away July 9, 2009 at home in Heber City, Utah after suffering from a long battle with cancer. Born August 11, 1933 in Heber City, Utah son of James Paul and Esther Horne Olson. He married Cherril Hughes April 27, 1950 in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Following graduation from Wasatch High School in 1950, Dale proudly served his country on a US Navy aircraft carrier in the Korean War. He retired from MaBell and AT & T after 35 years of dedicated service. Dale, Cherril and their children lived for many years in the Taylorsville area. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, storytelling and family vacations. His lifelong dream came true when he completed the building of his cabin home back in Heber City where he and his sweetheart, Cherril, planned to spend their retirement. His greatest joy came from surrounding himself with his family in the mountains. As an active member of the LDS Church, he served in many callings and spent many years with the Boy Scout organization. He is survived by his wife, Cherril; children: Triston Olson (George) Faulkner, Julie Olson (Mike) Arnoldus and Michael Dale Olson; grandchildren: Shane, Tiffany, Dustin and Mackenzie; great-grandchildren: Trayson and Jordan; brother, Kenneth (Renee) Olson; sister, Darlene (Steve) Morgan. Preceded in death by his siblings, Marvin and Carol. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville Central Stake, 4950 South 1950 West. A viewing will be held Tuesday, 6- 8 pm. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Wednesday at the church, 10 - 10:45 am. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
