Daniel Louis Aguinaga, Sr., 74, of Thatcher, passed away March 8, 2017 in Tucson. He was born December 11, 1942 in Clifton, AZ to Concepcion & Esperanza Aguinaga.
Daniel graduated from Clifton High School and then entered the National Guard. After his service, he began working for Phelps Dodge in Morenci where he later retired as a pump field repairman and welder.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Morenci Lions Club and the Morenci Little League. He loved hunting, shooting, fishing, playing softball, horses and family picnics.
Daniel is survived by his children; Daniel (Libby) Aguinaga, Jr., Tony (Priscilla) Aguinaga, Joseph (Jennifer) Aguinaga, Denise Aguinaga, Anna Aguinaga and Juan (Diane) Aguinaga, siblings; Consuelo Buday, Margaret Burt and Ray Aguinaga, 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Concepcion and Esperanza Aguinaga.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. with the Rosary being led at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Clifton. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Morenci.
