Daniel Joe Best 1957 ~ 2010 Dan Best quietly left this life September 26, 2010 surrounded by friends. Dan was born May 25, 1957 to Lloyd and Arlee Best in Baker, Oregon, the second child in their family. When Dan was 12, he was struck by a car causing traumatic brain injury. He was admitted to the Utah State Developmental Center after living in several foster homes. In December of 1988 he moved into a community placement with Danville Services. Dan made many friends over the last 22 years and touched many peoples lives. Before dementia overtook his memories Dan was very fun to be around and always had an opinion on everything. He loved going to the races, Nascar, concerts, old music and talking to his friends. Dan was a very hard worker and doing a good job was important to him. He taught those around him valuable lessons in patience and that life was short and meant to be lived to the fullest degree. Dan valued his independence. Both of Dans parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his older brother, Bill. Many thanks to all the staff at Danville who cared deeply and supported Dan throughout his life, as well as Rocky Mountain Hospice for their kindness in his passing.
