Daniel Contreras

Daniel Martinez Contreras or Danny as he was known, 45, of Pima, entered into rest December 17, 2012 at his home in Pima. Danny was born September 13, 1967 in Safford to Maria and Jose Contreras. He was the youngest of 14 siblings, 7 brothers and 7 sisters. He is preceded in death by his mother, Maria; brothers, Rudy and Joe Contreras; and granddaughter Leann Contreras. He is survived by his wife Valerie of Pima, four sons, D.J. (Brandi) Contreras of Safford, Tyson (Amanda) Contreras of Safford, Derrick and Jacob of Pima, father, Jose Contreras also of Pima; seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kaiden, Khloee, James, Eric, Alexa, Markus. He also leaves behind two Goddaughters, Maria and Ashley of Mesa; sisters, Hope (Prudencio) Briseno, of Pima, Olveda (Tony)Rodriguez of San Jose, Rachael Rodriguez of Thatcher, Lupe Contreras of Mesa, Mary Jane (Wes)Leach of Mesa, Josi Cervantez, of Mesa, and Rosi (Amiel) Proto of Safford; brothers, Luis (Mary)Contreras of Pima, Eddie Contreras of Safford, Manuel (Maria) Contreras of Safford, Jesse (Irene) Contreras of Pima. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Safford. Rosary will be lead at 7 p.m. by Deacon Carl Vessels. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Edward Lucero as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Pima Cemetery.
