Daniel Hunter was born October 8, 940 in San Carlos, Arizona to Martin and Matilda Dillon Hunter. He moved on to be with the Lord on January 27, 2014. He was 73 years old. In the early years of his life Daniel was a cowboy in the Eagle Creek area where he met Emily Pike, and later married in October 1957. They had six children and lost two as infants. After the birth of their first child they moved to Eager, Arizona and he worked in the sawmill there. They moved to Winkleman, Arizona and worked in the mines. Daniel worked for the mines from 1959 through 1976. During the strikes he had various jobs including firefighter in the BS Gap/Point of Pine. He loved being with his family, fishing with them, making poles for them. When he didnt have a job, he always found other means to provide. Woodmaking/making pots to sell. Daniel was a good father who provided for his family. He was always there for his family who needed help. He leaves behind his daughters, Elmira (Mira) Hunter, Liz Hunter, Althea Marie Hunter, Krystal Eve Hunter and his sons; Sidney Dean Hunter and Danfred Hunter, Sr.; his two best friends, grandpas grandsons, Danfred Hunter, Jr., and Kaleb Diondre Hunter; and many nieces and nephews. We will miss you so much Dad, Grandpa and Uncle. A Wake will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Hunter Residence in Peridot, Arizona. Funeral Services will be on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Stanley Hall in Bylas, Arizona. Interment to follow at Middle Mesa Cemetery in Bylas.
