Daniel D. Lloyd 1923 ~ 2010 Daniel Denton Lloyd was born March 18, 1923 in Bancroft, Idaho to Daniel H. and Alfretta Denton Lloyd. He had three siblings: Lee, Norma and Gary. He was heavily into athletics, running track, playing basketball and pole vaulting. After graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Margie Christensen, May 23, 1942 in Grace, Idaho; later sealed in the Bountiful Temple. They went on to begin a 67 year loving relationship which contains thousands of memories and three beautiful children: Larry, Lynn and Paula. He also has four amazing grandchildren: Todd, Shawn, Jeremy and Amber, which turned into 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Dan was a Utah Power and Light Dispatcher and retired after 40 years in 1982. Dan and Marge were then free to begin their active retirement, traveling the entire United States in their fifth wheel. Dans passions were his family, snowmobiling and spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them to swim and perfect diving, and shooting pop cans with his beloved pellet gun. He would pick them up every day from school and take them to the local Arctic Circle no matter how redundant it got. He was a teacher of all sorts to those who knew not a lot, he never got tired of being generous or kind. He was a lover not a fighter and his death is a tragedy to those who knew him well. Dan would hurt when someone else was in pain, would bleed when someone else had a wound, would cry at someone elses despair, would smile at someone elses joys, and help when someone else was too afraid to ask. Dan was truly an angel who was given to us on earth to hold our hands until we could hold our own. If you had the chance to know Dan, then this comes as no surprise ~ for those that never knew him, you missed out on the most loving man God has ever made. Dan was taken from us late Tuesday afternoon September 14, 2010 after suffering from a broken heart for the past five months after the death of his wife. We would like to give special thanks to Wendy and Nancy at Bristol Hospice and Chelsea and Cari at Draper Care Center, who took care of Dan, as if he was a part of their family. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010, 11:30 am at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive. A viewing will be held Saturday, 10-11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
