Danny William Traylor lived 63 wonderful years in the Gila Valley. He entered into rest on Friday, April 29th in Mesa Arizona.Danny was born in Safford on March 13, 1952 to John and Clayola Traylor. As a child Danny loved to play baseball, a sport he enjoyed all of his life. Danny married Marla Ferguson in September 1971. They have two children Ty and Timalee. As a father and grandfather Danny lead by example. He taught the value of work, optimism and to serve others. Favorite family memories are of family dinners, hunting trips, car shows, playing mercy, checkers and card games. He is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He will be remembered for his joyful service in the Gila Valley Temple and his love of the Lord.Danny is well known as a general contractor. Many of his friendships began with a metal building and a handshake. If you knew Danny you knew he was honest and hardworking. Danny enjoyed classic cars. Weekend trips with the car bunch provided laughter, trophies and great memories with wonderful friends. Danny loved the land, farming and his cattle. Often a smile would cross his face as he reported the birth of a new calf.Danny is preceded in death by his father John Traylor. His loyal companion, a yellow labrador named Friday also preceded him in death. Danny is loved and will be missed by many. He is survived by his children Ty (Kelsey) Traylor and Timalee (Corey) Lightfoot. His grandchildren Lane, Dustin, Logan, Jace and Emma. His mother Clayola, his sister Jonda and brothers Gary, Randy and Steve.The family wishes to express gratitude to all of Danny's friends, car and church families. We love you and thank you for happiness you brought to his life and the place you held in his heart. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00a.m. on Thursday May 5 2016 at the Pima LDS Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. We invite those who own classic cars to drive them. Interment will follow in the central cemetery.
