Darold Clonts

Darold W. Clonts, born Nov. 13, 1931 to Cary V. Clonts and Eva E. Whitmer, passed peacefully to the next life on October 13, 2010. He married Marilyn Freeman on December 22, 1956. Darolds academic achievements include: B.S. from the US Military Academy at West Point; a B.S. fro ASU in Electrical Engineering; a Masters of Science from USC. He served honorably in the US Air Force in many capacities including: Graduating from West Point as a 2nd Lt.; Pilot at Marana AFB, AZ and Reece AFB in Lubbock TX., Project Engineer at Norton AFB in the Space and Missile Systems Org., Project Manager at White Sands Missile Range, NM, Pilot for a C-123 in Vietnam, International Communications Officer for the Air Force to the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., White Sands Missile Range, NM as a Lt. Col., and retired as a Lt. Col. at the Space and Missile Systems Org. in Los Angeles, CA in 1975. Darold was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Marilyn were sealed in the Mesa Temple June 30, 1962. He had many callings in the church and his favorite was a Home Teacher. Darold is survived by his wife Marilyn Freeman and his children, Douglas, Wayne (Jill), Matthew (Niki), Ben (Amy), Daniel (Dana), Jared (Olga) and Samuel and 26 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Friday, October 22, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services in the Old Central LDS Chapel. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, October 23 at 12 noon in the Old Central LDS Chapel. Interment will be in the Central Cemetery.
