In Loving Memory of Darrell Bullis
Darrell was born September 21, 1962 in San Carlos, AZ to Geneive Cadmus & Richard Bullis. When he was born, he was given the name Rum-Pum for he was a chubby baby. He grew up in the White City area along with his brothers & sisters, playing, going to school, learning how to hunt for quails, rabbits & fishing. As a little boy he enjoyed the love and company of his grandmother Alice.
Growing up he attended Ft. Thomas Elementary School, Ft. Thomas Jr. High School where he played basketball. He later then graduated from the class of 1982 from Ft. Thomas High School. After high school, working and learning the ways of life. He then later met Judith Yoyetewa and had their first child Daralynn Jane "Missy" Bullis and later got married on October 30, 1983. Darrell then enrolled at Eastern Arizona College and lived in Thatcher with his family where he completed his EMT. After completion him and his family moved back to Bylas, AZ where they made a home. Darrell then started work with the South West Firefighting. Shortly came his second daughter Jody Lynn Bullis whom he nicknamed "Grouchy Girl". After Jody was born, he worked for the San Carlos Apache Tribe as an EMT. His son Daryl Jonah Bullis was born on September on Jody's birthday.
From 1990 on he was a member of the Geronimo Hotshot Crew. Later his family was blessed with a home from the Mt. Turnbull Housing Subdivision, he continued to work for his family while working numerous jobs and held numerous positions in the field of forestry. After forestry he enjoyed mining with his brother Chutt. He continued to take care of his children even though they were grown. In the year of 2005, he received the greatest news that he was going to be a grandpa "Papa" and later his first granddaughter was born Kaitlyn Laci Waterman, later came Aubrey Love Waterman in the summer of 2008 and his first grandson Darin Dean Bullis came. He loved his three grandkids with all his heart and enjoyed their company.
The years after, he enjoyed his outdoor walks, listening to his classic rock music, doing crossword puzzles, looking after his mom, enjoyed the company of his kids & grandkids and having home cooked meals - his favorite dish was meatloaf and mashed potatoes. He also attended many classic rock concerts with his brother Jack and sister Emy. Darrell was a very humble, respectful, loving, supportive and caring person with a strong spirit and lived life to the fullest. The Lord took him home early Thursday morning on March 28, 2019.
He is survived by his mother Geneieve Cadmus, children Daralynn J. Bullis, Jody L. Bullis & Daryl J. Bullis, brothers Patrick Stanley, Larold Cadmus, sisters Pamela Delma, Tina Tessay & Vanessa Cadmus, grandchildren Kaitlyn Waterman, Aubrey Waterman & Darin Bullis and numerous nephews & nieces.
He is proceeded in death by his grandparents Oliver & Alice Cheney Cadmus, Uncle Roy Cadmus, Aunt Betty Cadmus and father Richard Bullis.
I know Darrell is smiling down giving two-thumbs up! We'll miss you.
Wake will be held on April 3, 2019 at the Cadmus Residence starting at 4:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on April 4, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Stanley Hall in Bylas Arizona. With interment in the Middle Mesa Cemetery.
