In the early hours of November 20, 2024 the world dimmed a little as Debra Fessler—an incandescent spirit born on April 6, 1954, in Safford, Arizona—passed gracefully from this life into the next, leaving behind a tapestry woven with the threads of family, faith, and friendships that meant everything to her. With a smile that could light up the gloomiest days and a heart that welcomed all, she touched countless lives in her remarkable journey.
Debra, whose roots extend deep into the heart of Safford, was a proud graduate of Safford High School, leaving her alma mater in 1972 with a blend of hope and ambition that would define her path. Her career as a bartender and waitress was a testament to her vibrant spirit; she thrived in the bustling atmosphere of camaraderie and warmth, leaving an indelible mark on the patrons who frequented her tables. Known and loved by many, Debra's laughter and kindness made every encounter a cherished memory.
To her beloved companion, George Peaden, she was a beacon of love and devotion; their shared moments will forever echo in the memories of those lucky enough to witness their bond. Sister to Vonda Deibler and aunt to her precious nephew, Charles, and niece, Laci, along with her step-children, Brent Huckey, Brent Fessler, and Shelli Sas, Debra’s legacy of love resonates through her family. The countless tales of shared laughter, family gatherings, and unconditional support will live on in their hearts.
Debra also had a special connection with her beloved pets—Dixie, Sassy, Rocket, Murphy, Avah, and Brother Cat—often finding comfort in their playful antics and gentle companionship. They were not just animals but cherished family members who accompanied her through her life’s journey.
Debra bids farewell to us and is reunited with her parents, Charles Adams and Patsy Mow Adams, along with her four grandparents, who have paved the way for her adventurous spirit. Their nurturing love surrounds her still, as she reunites with them in the infinite realms beyond our earthly existence.
Join us as we celebrate Debra’s life during a memorial service to be held at Crossroads Baptist Church in Thatcher, Arizona, on December 7, 2024, at 10:30 AM. Let us gather as friends and family to honor her beautiful journey, to share stories of laughter and love, and to reflect on the profound impact she had on all our lives.
Though Debra Fessler has departed from this earthly plane, her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her fiercely in return. She shall remain forever in our spirits, inspiring us to embrace each day with the same enthusiasm and love that she embodied.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Graham County Animal Shelter in behalf of Debra.
