Della Doan

Della Mae Doan, 73, of Pima, passed away at her home on January 18, 2015, surrounded by family. Della was born February 19, 1941 to Luther and Oceal Ross in Carlsbad, NM. Della had a wonderful childhood spent with her three other sisters. She cared for them a lot due to two working parents. After graduating from High School she married Charles Doan, on February 4, 1961. Della became an instant mom to Jeff and Susan at this time. Then came Gary, Cindy and Cheryl. Della spent her life as a housewife, mom, grandma, and then great-grandma, but it seemed to be every one called her Granny Brian, Ryan and Great-Grandson Cason never called her anything else. The Lord really came into her life and Della was baptized by Pastor David Chapmen in September 2013. She is survived by her children; Susan Doan, Jeff Doan (Sandra), Gary Doan, Cindy Stringfellow (Dale), Grandsons; Brian Doan and Ryan Elias (Tiffany) and Great-Grandson Cason. Della was preceded in death by her husband Charles, daughter Cheryl, parents, Luther and Oceal Ross, sister Retha Gibson and niece Karrie Blankenship. A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. with services at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at The River Community Church, 1726 South 1st Ave, (Hwy 191) in Safford with Pastor David Chapman officiating. Interment will be in the Pima Cemetery.
