Dennie Jones

Dennie Ester Jones, 108, of Thatcher, entered into rest April 28, 2015 in Safford. Dennie was born August 17, 1908 in Shawnee, OK, to Tom and Senna Webb. Dennie met and married James Jones and to this union was born their son, Pat. In 1947 the family moved to Arizona. The family worked hard on the farms as James operated a farm laborer contracting service in the Gila Valley for many years. They settled first in Thatcher, then moved to Pima to reside for a period of time before returning to Thatcher in 1955 where they made their home. The passing of her husband, James, in 1970 was hard on Dennie but she was determined to continue on. She is survived by her son Pat Jones of Thatcher. Dennie was preceded in death by her husband James and her parents Tom and Senna Webb. Services for Dennie will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Caldwell Funeral Chapel with the viewing at 1:00 p.m. and the funeral beginningat 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery.
