Dennis Carter

Dennis Clair Carter, 67, of Safford, entered peacefully into rest on October 12, 2012. He was born on December 19, 1943 in Kennewick, Washington to William and Amelia Carter. Dennis grew up in Oregon and developed a love for fishing and hunting. When he became old enough, he joined the Navy and served honorably for four years. He was appointed to and served on the U.S.S. Galveston, stationed in Long Beach, California. Following his service in the military he returned to Oregon and abtained work as a log truck driver which he did for many years and many miles. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Shelley L. Tinney; and his father-in-law, Leverne Tinney. Military honors for Dennis were held on Friday, November 02, 2012 at McDougals Caldwell Funeral Chapel, in Safford. The Family asks that contributions be made to the American Legion Swift Murphy Post 32, in Safford.
