Derek Troy Garcia, 22 of Safford passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at his home in Safford. He was born on April 21, 1988 in Safford. Derek is survived by his mother, Charlotte Hansen of Safford, parents, Mariano (Rebecca) Casillas, Sr. of Safford, and Steve and Kim Garcia of Safford; girlfriend, Daniela Arbizo of Safford; son, Carlos Arbizo, of Safford, and daughter, Cecilya of Safford; sisters, Alena (Travis) Jones of Weatherford, TX, Kailey Hammond, Martha(Patrick) Bryce, and Arelia (Joe) Casillas all of Safford; brothers, Jared Garcia of Safford, and Mariano (Theresa) Casillas, Jr., of Maricopa; aunt and uncle, Annette and Eddie Sanchez of El Paso, TX; and cousin, Erick Sanchez of El Paso, TX. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Friday, February 18, 2011 at the New Life City Church in Safford. Dr. Phillip Tutor will be officiating. Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery.
