Diane Inkley Bateman Honey Bear Diane Inkley Bateman passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on February 26, 2008. She was born February 19, 1933 in Granger, Utah to Edwin Christopher and Louise Merelda Bawden Inkley. Married and sealed to Lynn Leroy Bateman in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 19, 1953. Her legacy was found in the devoted relationship she had with her husband and best friend. Together, they raised 11 children and opened their home to 21 foster children. Diane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She served faithfully in the LDS Church and on several local and state PTA boards. She was the first woman in Utah to bowl a perfect 300 game, at the time she was seven months pregnant. She blessed lives with her love for music and her lively personality. Always the center of attention, Diane was a person you longed to be around. Her greatest gift was her ability to make everyone feel as if they were her favorite. Survived by husband, Lynn; 6 sons and 5 daughters, Kevin (Denise), West Jordan; Kenneth (Alicia), West Valley; Kelly (Lisa), West Jordan; Kody (Jodi), Riverton; Jeff (Andrea), Taylorsville; Carl (Miranda), Powell, Wyoming; Kim Bateman, Centennial, Colorado; Kay Diane (Bob) Hanson, West Jordan; Michelle Bateman, (Jay Rezac), West Jordan; Karen Murphy, Taylorsville; Kami (Brent) Barbour, Bluffdale; 47 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Lynn (Millie) Inkley, Shirl (Elaine) Inkley, Beth Memmott, Karen (Fred) Finlayson, Judy (Pat) Beatie. Preceded in death by son, Kristopher Alden Bateman; sister, Maureen Rueckert; and her parents. Special thanks to the many care givers that blessed Dianes life. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008, 12:00 noon at the Valley Park 6th Ward, 5233 South 3200 West. A viewing will be held Friday, February 29 , 2008, 5-8:00 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 10:30-11:45 am prior to services.
