Donald Michael Evanoff, Jr. was born on March 6, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the son of Donald Michael, Sr. and Jacqueline Sinton Evanoff. As a young man growing up, he started working at a young age. He worked for several farmers, and several other jobs while still in school. His parents moved to Arizona in 1972 and he worked with several farmers and as a bus boy at Sambos Restaurant while still in high school. He graduated from Casa Grande Union High School in 1979. After graduating high school, he moved to Phoenix, where he was involved with Job Corps where they found him a job in Oregon working at a CCC camp. He stayed there until the job ended and returned to Job Corp. in Phoenix. He then decided that he wanted to go to college, so he enrolled at Eastern Arizona College where he met the girl of his dreams. On October 17, 1980 he married Betty Jean Schwanz. To this union there were no children. In the early 1980s he went to work for the Duncan Unified Schools as a custodian until in December 1999, when he was no longer able to work. Donald loved to cook and create very good dishes. Betty can remember when he was offered a scholarship to go to a cooking school in Scottsdale but the grant didnt go through. He was very sad. He struggled with his illness until the time of his passing at Tucson Medical Center on April 13, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 25 at 10 a.m. at the 1st Baptist Church in Duncan. Interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery.
