Donald W. Petersen Pete On Thursday morning, September 11, 2008, Donald William Petersen returned home to his Heavenly Father. He was born in Fresno, California to Hazel Catherine Moses and Clarence Marion Petersen August 14, 1933. Both parents preceded him in death. Donald was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1955. He moved his family from Fresno, California to Tooele, Utah and started working at the Tooele Army Depot in 1965. He then worked as a Tooele City Police Officer from approximately 1968 to 1973. He returned to the Tooele Army Depot for a short time and then worked for the Utah State Prison in various state locations until he retired and moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Merrilee Petersen, who resides in Grants Pass, Oregon; his children, Craig Petersen (Debbi), Vickie Niesporek, Donald Petersen (Brenda), David Petersen, Diana Petersen, Jason Petersen (Tami ), Katherine Petersen Christensen (Jason), and Melissa May; his step children: Christine Heinlein, Deborah Lynn Hamelin (Sean), Daniel Hook (Jennifer), Heather Wood (Fred); and was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was loved by all and will be missed greatly. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at the Parkway 2nd Ward, 3407 West 9625 South, South Jordan. Viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 1-1:45 p.m.
