Donna Evelyn Larson Moody Love the Outdoors Born August 12, 1919 in Fosston, Minnesota, to Henrietta Catherine Nelson and Bennett Irving Larson along with her twin sister, Denise. She had an older sister, Maeda, also. She passed away peacefully September 8, 2010 of a massive stroke. Donna attended the University of North Dakota and then completed nurses training at Eitel Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She felt an obligation to her country and enrolled in the Army Nurse Corp at Schick General Hospital. She ministered to our troops after D-day in the hospital at Llandudno, Wales. Donna had the privilege of meeting the Queen Mother and Glen Miller and his orchestra while in Europe. After the war, she worked in Minneapolis during the polio epidemic. Coming to California with four other nurses, she was employed at the Woodland Clinic in Woodland, California. She married James Warden Hunt August 14, 1948 and then divorced. She married Orson Alexander Moody June 23, 1961 and moved to Lincoln, California. Orson passed away in 1978. Donna is survived by her only child, Valerie (Arthur) Colby; and a step-son, William (Sandra) Moody. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, both of her sisters and one grandchild. Donnas family wishes to express their appreciation to the ninth floor nursing staff and aides at IMC Hospital in Murray, Utah; the South Jordan Senior Center for their friendships and caring and the residents of Coventry Cove in Riverton, Utah. Graveside services will be Saturday, September 11, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at the South Jordan City Cemetery, 10650 South 1015 West. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Intermountain Hospice in Donnas name.
