Dora Cruz

Dora Olivaz Cruz, 96, entered into rest on Friday, August 22, 2014, at Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 24, 1918 in Johnson, AZ, to Gavino and Petra Olivaz. Dora was a member of the Catholic Church. She loved gardening, singing and was a wonderful singer, and loved to tend and spend time with her kids and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Vicente Cruz, Jr. (Mary Helen), Daughter, Mary Rose Sandoval (Rafael), Michael J. Cruz Sr., and Manuel J. Cruz, Sr. (Darleen), and brother, Eddie Olivaz, 28 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren,and 14 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Vicente Cruz Sr.,son, Gavino Cruz "Chieffy", and her parents. Viewing will be on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, rosary will be led at 10 a.m. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 by Rev. Father Robert Rodriguez, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Safford Cemetery.
