Ann M. Freed 1934 ~ 2007 Mantua - Ann M. Freed, 73, passed away Monday, December 24, 2007 at her home in Mantua, Utah from bone cancer. She was surrounded by her husband of 51 years and family members. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of George and Dora Maycock. Married Bert Freed June 30, 1956 in San Anselmo, California; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1959. Ann graduated from West High School in 1952 and attended the University of Utah. She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang with several different singing groups in California and Idaho. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many positions in the Primary, Relief Society and Young Womens. She lived in Salt Lake City, Utah during her early years, in Fair Oaks, California for 12 years, Ucon, Idaho for over 32 years and Mantua, Utah for over 5 years. Surviving are her husband, Bert; sons: Daniel (Tammy) Freed, Salt Lake City, UT; Blake (Yasmin) Freed, Brigham City, UT; daughters: Ellen (Bryan) Spaulding, Idaho Falls, ID; Marianne (Randy) Reed, West Valley City, UT; Stefanie (Todd) Butte, Ogden, UT; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Clem) Griffin, Escalante, UT. Preceded in death by her son, Scott; parents; 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at the Mantua 2nd Ward, 237 South Willard Peak Road where a viewing will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the church, 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to services.
