Doreen Nelson Tenney, 76, passed away 18 March 2010 in Richland Washington. She was born 19 November 1933 to David Sanders Nelson and Martha Elizabeth Fuller in Phoenix Arizona. She married Wayne Pratt Tenney on 5 June 1952 in Mesa Arizona Temple. Wayne passed away in 1999. She is survived by her two sisters, Donna Nelson Wright of Mesa Arizona and Noreen Nelson Taylor (Larry) of Richland Washington, and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Doreen held BA and MA degrees in Microbiology from the University of Utah with 1 and 1/2years of Post Graduate study in Micro- biology at Rutgers University. She worked at Barbizon in Provo and as a secretary in the Placement Department at the University of Texas to help support Wayne in his Academic Pursuits. She worked for twenty years in the laboratory as a Microbiologist at the Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo, Utah. She was a Docent for the Museum of Art Exhibit, Imperial Tomes of China. Wayne and Doreen loved their dogs, first Buddy and Duchess and then Duke and Yoda. She served in many church callings, Primary teacher, Pianist, visiting teacher and teachers' coordinator, Relief Society Counselor and Compassionate service leader, Family History Extraction worker and temple names organizer. Graveside Services will be conducted Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Thatcher Cemetery.
