Doris Marriott 1935 ~ 2008 Doris Jean Earlywine Macmillan Marriott, was born in Dayton, Ohio to Edward Thomas and Elizabeth Brondy Earlywine July 30, 1935 and left this existence May 2, 2008 with her family at her side. She was the oldest of six children and lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a number of years. She married Peter O. Romero in 1960; later divorced. She later married Douglas Cameron Macmillan and moved to Livermore, California where they both worked for Sandia Laboratory. He passed away in 1997. She has one son, Gregory Allen Romero (Karine Boam) who she loved dearly. In her eyes he was nearly perfect! She married Emden Erwin Marriott January 27, 2000. After their marriage, Erv retired and in 2004 they left California for a new adventure in Port Angeles, Washington. They lived in a picturesque home with a million dollar view of the ocean and Victoria, Canada. Jean was a beautiful, intelligent woman. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1983, she was cancer free for almost 20 years. After battling breast cancer two more times, it finally won but she gave it a good fight. Jean loved reading, cooking, shopping, jewelry and beautiful things. She had a flair for the dramatic that was evident in her home, clothing and personality. She wrote beautiful poetry and creative short stories. Some of her best days were spent exploring shops and restaurants with Erv and Isaiah, her toy poodle. Her favorite places were near the ocean. She spent hours studying topics that interested her like, gardening, cooking, religion, beauty and good health. She was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She introduced anyone she could to the Church because of the great change it made in her life. She shared her testimony with anyone who would listen. She became a true scholar of the religion. Now she can really start her mission! She will be missed by her sweetheart, Erv, Greg and Karine and their children: Cameron (Lindsey Wiles), Matthew (serving a LDS mission in Sao Paulo Brazil), Taylor, Ryan and Lauren Romero. Her family is grateful for the last months they were able to spend caring for her in their home. Also survived by sister, Barbara (David) Wallers; brothers: Tom (Karen) and Steven Earlywine, as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Douglas Macmillan; sisters: Carolyn Ruminer and Marlene Meintz. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at the Oak Hill Ward, 895 West 4800 South. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
