Mary DeLores Doris McEuen, 76, of Safford entered into rest surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Mt Graham Regional Medical Center. Doris was born on December 2, 1936 to Brigham and Leila Elmer in Miami. Arizona. Doris was a loving wife and mother. She was very intelligent, graduating from high school at 16 years old. She attended Miami High school from freshman to junior years; her senior year was spent at Safford High School, graduating in 1956. Doris graduated from Lamson Business College. Doris and Jerry McEuen were married on June 2, 1957 in Ft. Thomas, Arizona by then Bishop J.N. McEuen. They had three children, Kim, Kevin & Mark McEuen. She worked at Cochise College as the first Executive Secretary at Douglas, Arizona while Jerry was working at Douglas Schools. Later they moved to Tucson where she was employed at Martin Missile at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. She made more money than Jerry who was employed by Tucson Schools. Doris loved children and animals. When she was young she had a horse. Doris loved to make and paint dolls; she won numerous ribbons at county fairs for her dolls. She filled her home with her porcelain dolls. Doris was also a fine seamstress making clothes for the family. Doris is preceded in death by her parents; Brigham and Lela Elmer. She is survived by her devoted husband Jerry McEuen, of Safford; her children, Kim McEuen of Safford, Kevin McEuen of San Diego, CA, & Mark McEuen of Yuma; siblings; Boyd Elmer & Katherine Katt; two grandchildren & two great-grandchildren. Goodbye to a special woman. A viewing will be held Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Caldwell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. also at Caldwell Funeral Chapel with Bishop Pat McEuen conducting. Doris will be laid to rest in the Safford Cemetery following the service.
