A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dorothy served in the Primary, Sunday School, Young Women and Relief Society. She was a living example of unconditional love, and she practiced the principles of the gospel as she understood them. Visitors to her home never left without Dorothys warm hug and kind words. During her life, Dorothy was able to cultivate and share the numerous gifts of her hands. She was gifted in quilting, painting, sewing, barbering, gardening, homemaking and crocheting, using her gifts to provide for her family and to beautify and enrich the lives of loved ones. Her giving hands gave comfort to her family, aid to her neighbors and service to her God. Dorothy at all times was able to see the positive aspects of life. Family was a joy to Dorothy. She knew how to make each family member feel important. She was never too busy to read a story or to listen to and encourage her loved ones. Many even outside of her family lovingly referred to her as Granny. This name was a title of honor and a role of responsibility that she took seriously.
