Dorothy M. Wallace 1921-2008 Mary Dorothy Floretta Dilley Wallace passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, December 24, 2008, at her home in Kearns, Utah, where she had resided for 60 years. Dorothy was born January 19, 1921 to Leon Gambetta and Grace Ellen McSporran Dilley in Magna, Utah. She graduated from Cyprus High School and the LDS Seminary. Dorothy was an accomplished embroiderer and also liked to crochet. She enjoyed making many doilies and afghans for her family and friends, along with many quilts and school clothes on her sewing machine. She found joy in gardening and nature. She worked at the original Harmons groceries store, where Jake and Irene Harmon used to call her George. In 1940, she married the love of her life, Donald Wallace, and together they had 4 children: Dorothy Diane (James) Burnside, Donald Duane (Carolyn) Wallace, Darrell Dean Wallace and Darlene Dixie (Jerry) Shelledy. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 7 brothers, 1 sister, 1 son, 1 granddaughter, 1 grandson, 1 great-granddaughter and 1 great-grandson. She is survived by 2 daughters, 1 son, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her friend Rachel Spor and Harmony Hospice for there care and concern. We love you Mom and Grandma, have a wonderful time with Dad and Grandpa. Funeral services will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m. at the Jordan North 6th Ward, 3836 West 4100 South. Viewings will be held Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
