Edward Charles Soto, 48, of Safford, entered into rest on Friday, February 6, 2015 in Clifton. He was born on January 1, 1967, in Safford to Charles and Cresencia Soto. Edward attended Safford High School, he was an excellent baseball player and he loved to watch football especially the Raiders. He worked as a carpenter his whole life and built commercial and residential buildings; he was creative and constructed many creative things. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and off-roading in his 1967 Jeep. He raised chickens with his daughters throughout his life, he loved to grill and cook, and he was always grilling something for his family and friends. He loved rock and roll and attended as many concerts as he could. He is survived by his mother, Cresencia Soto of Safford; daughters, Alycia Soto of Safford, Eddy Carpenter (Jason) of Safford, Danielle Soto of Phoenix, and Amberly Soto of Safford; sisters, Jenny Moreno (Marcos), Rita Chavez (Peter), and Sally Holguin, and brothers, Manuel Valles (Mary Gloria), and Felix Valles of Safford; grandsons, Edward Arturo Padilla and Dade Joey Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews, his best friend, his dog, Damian. He was preceded in death by his father Carlos Soto, and brother, Librado Libby Valles. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Safford. Rosary will be at 10:00 a.m. and Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Father Robert Rodriguez as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery.
