Joan Overly Andersen 1937 ~ 2010 Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Joan Overly Andersen, 73, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2010, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Joan was born on January 11, 1937 in Provo, Utah, to Andrew and Alene Overly. She married her eternal sweetheart, Ronald L. Andersen, on July 12, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. Joans greatest joy in life was her family. She holds a very special place in each of their hearts. All believed they were her favorite. Joan served faithfully in many different callings for the LDS Church, most recently her and Ron were serving an LDS Mission in the Salt Lake Inner City Service Mission, 9th Ward, Liberty Stake. This was a great blessing in her life and she truly loved those whom she served. Joan is survived by her husband, Ron; children, Rod (Janet), Julie (Scott), Jill (Bruce), Todd (Wendy); sister, Connie. She was blessed with 11 grandsons and 4 granddaughters. Joans family will greet loved ones at a viewing on Thursday, July 1, 2010, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 2, 2010, 11:00 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to the service at the Taylorsville West Stake Center, 4505 South 3420 West. Interment, Larkin Sunset Garden.
