EksAyn Anderson

February 16, 1919 — August 16, 2010

EksAyn Anderson 1919 2010 Our beloved EksAyn Anderson Papa, 91, passed away on August 16, 2010, at home with his family. Papa was born February 16, 1919 in Nephi, UT, to Peter Nephi Anderson and Stella May Belliston. He married his sweetheart, Cordelia Mary Marshall in Dallas, TX in 1946 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1953. He graduated from Juab High School at 16; attended the University of Utah, receiving his Bachelors and Juris Doctorate. He was a special investigator in the Fraud Unit of the US Treasury Department in Dallas, TX. Returning to Salt Lake City in 1950, he established his law practice specializing in corporate, estate planning, and tax law. He was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 1958. He was also an associate in his fathers law firm in Nephi, UT. Papa loved the law. He served as a chairman of the Tax Section of the Utah Bar Association, and proudly maintained his bar membership with emeritus status until his death. He volunteered countless hours for The Center for Constitutional Studies, Salt Lake Auxiliary Police, Kiwanis International, and sang for many years in the Jay Welch Chorale. Papa shared his passions as he taught us to love God, family, freedom, the Constitution, music, hard work, the outdoors, our community and compassionate service. Papa loved and immersed himself in missionary work, serving several stake missions. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Papa loved his ward families. He raised his family with his beloved wife in Parleys 4th and 1st Wards, and was grateful for support received after Moms passing in 1975. In 1984, Papa moved to the Mt. Olympus 10th Ward. He later sold his home in 2005 and has since lived in the Taylorsville Valley Park 4th and 5th Wards with his son and daughter-in-law, EksAyn and Patty Anderson, who lovingly cared for him until his death. Survived by four children: EksAyn (Patty) Anderson of Taylorsville, UT; Marsha (Karl) Stum of Vancouver, WA; Chandra (Conrad) Roberson of Sandy, UT; and Katherine (Greg) Moon of Vancouver, WA.; sister, Kathy Anderson of Arlington, WA.; beloved nieces and nephews; 28 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; special extended family and dear friends.
