Elias Benavidez

Elias C. Benavidez, 87, of Pima Entered into rest on Monday, December 24, 2012 in Tucson. He was born on March 13, 1925 in Las Cruses, NM, to Andres and Dorotea Benavidez. He married Sarah Lopez on October 30, 1949 in Lordsburg, NM. Elias served his country honorably during WWII in the U.S. Army. He retired from Phelps Dodge Mining Company. He was a loving caring man and will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sarah Benavidez of Pima; son, Andy (Patty) Benavidez of Tucson; daughter, Yolanda (Frank) Garcia of Tucson; granddaughters, Stephanie (Andrew) Kacheroski of Tucson, and Sonja (Jason) Kuklinski of Tucson; grandson, Tim (Colleen) Benavidez of Tucson; great grandsons, Drew Kacheroski, Dillan Nagore-Benavidez and Mason Nagore-Benavidez, all of Tucson; and great granddaughter, Blake Kacheroski of Tucson; and sisters, Vigen Mirobal, and Marciella Fierro. Private family services were held and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
