Elleen Sexton

Elleen Sexton 93 of Duncan, passed away at her home in Sheldon on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Born October 15, 1928, to Nick Bennett and Florence Cade in Hondo, NM, she was one of eight children: Alma Hansen, Elbert, Benny, Elva Lee Phillips, Jewel Young, Gladys Wagley, and Loretta Cosper. She attended Duncan High School with her sweetheart, Doyle Sexton. During Elleen's senior year, Doyle returned from World War II and they eloped to Lordsburg, NM, on January 2, 1947. They were blessed with 5 children, Marvin (Donna), Mike (Carla), Janeal, Lynn Damron (Doug), and Patrick (Malyn). They have 12 grandchildren, and many great- and great-great grandchildren. Elleen spent many years with her husband growing the best green chile in Arizona and selling produce from a stand in front of their home. She always had a fresh pot of coffee on for anyone who stopped by. She was an excellent cook. She liked reading, playing cards, dancing, and listening to good ol' country music. In her last few years she really enjoyed sitting out on the porch visiting and eating popsicles with her granddaughters and great grandchildren. They will miss their Mamoo. Elleen is proceeded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, her husband Doyle, and her daughter Janeal.
