Elmer C. Gunderson 1915 ~ 2010 Elmer Clarence Gunderson passed away February 1, 2010 in Salt Lake City, UT. He was born May 6, 1915 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served in the National Guard and later as a Marine Corporal in WWII with missions in Okinawa and the Solomon Islands. He worked for a bakery as a driver, was a salesman for 40 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Grandpa loved cooking, fishing, leather working, animals, gardening and made sure to have tomatoes and zucchini planted each spring. In his later years he was happy and content watching birds, spending time with his cat, Sassy, and his favorite ~ going to McDonalds with his best friend, Bud. Survived by his daughter, Claudine; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even some great-great grandchildren; and sister, Audrey. Preceded in death by wife, Leila and daughter, Patti. Semper Fi Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 4, 2010, 1:00 p.m. at the Taylorsville 3rd Ward, 1457 West Atherton Drive ((4625 S.) where a viewing will be held, 12-12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
