Elmo T. Crockett, resident of Casa Grande, Az., passed away on January 27, 2015. Mr. Crockett, son of Hyrum Wesley Crockett and Elizabeth Lamb, was born July 29, 1926 in Safford, Arizona. He spent his childhood in the Gila Valley. He willingly served in the navy during World War II. After his service in the navy, he married Jennie Hancock on June 1, 1948 in the mesa Arizona LDS Temple. The couple moved to Casa Grande in 1955 where Elmo worked, first as a mechanic, and later as the manager for Bingham Equipment Company. He worked there until his retirement in 1988. Mr. Crockett was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served the church in many capacities. He loved John Wayne movies, country music, babies, animals, and especially his sweetheart, Jennie. In addition to his wife Jennie, Mr. Crockett is survived by five children: gray and Linda Crockett, Diane and Carl Fosdick, Alan and Julie Crockett, Kathy and Bruce Gardner, and Mitchell and Ari Crockett. In addition to his children, he leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He is survived locally by his two sisters, Irene Angle and Doris Montierth both of Safford. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Carolyn Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints located at 2841 N. Trekell Road in Casa Grande AZ. 85122. The viewing will be held at 9:00 am and the funeral will start at 10:00 am. There will be a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona.
