Biography Emma L. Maldonado, 80, of Solomon, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at her home in Solomon. She was born on July 28, 1931 in Morenci to Guadalupe Lopez and Maria Sanchez. Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was an Arizona native and was a member of the Solomon community since 1964. She devoted much of her time and energy volunteering for the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 95, in Solomon. Prior to Emmas illness, you would often find her driving residents of the Solomon community around town, to doctors appointments, grocery stores and other local businesses. Emma had a love of music and dance as well as being an exceptional cook. Emma is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Frances Irvine; and brothers, Claudio Mingura and Mike Mingura. She is survived by her husband, Arturo M. Maldonado; her children, Rudy Maldonado, Doreen (Steve) Jurado, Arthur (Lenor) Maldonado, Chris (Christina) Maldonado, and Ronnie (Kelly) Alva; siblings, Dimas Sanchez and Annie Fearn; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Solomon, with Rev. Father Edward Lucero as Celebrant. Viewing will be on Thursday, January 26, from 6-8 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rosary being recited at 7p.m. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery.
