Eric Montez

Eric Montez, 50, of Clifton, passed away August 5, 2015. Eric was born June 14, 1965 to Ernesto and Herminia Montez in Los Angeles, California. The family moved to Clifton in 1970 and Eric attended school there, graduating from Clifton High School in 1983. He was a landscaper by trade, loved music, was an artist and loved telling old family stories. The birth of his daughter, grandchildren and great-grandson held a special place in his heart. In April of 2009 he married Rachel Gonzalez. Eric is survived by his wife, Rachel Montez, daughter, Adrienne Licano, mother, Herminia Castaneda Montez, siblings; Ernesto Montez, Jr, Geno Montez, Elaine Florence, Benito Montez and Chynna Montez Chavez, grandchildren; Anyssa R. Burruel and Orlando J. Burruel and great-grandson, A.J. Moreno. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto Montez, brother, Eddie Montez and Uncle, Ernesto Castaneda. A Memorial Mass for Eric will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rosary being led at 9:00 a.m. and the Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Father Martin Atanga-Baabuge as Celebrant.
