Erminia Pena Espinosa, 76, of Solomon, entered into rest on October 4, 2012. She was born in Solomon on October 10, 1935 to Ponciano Pena and Jesusita Rios Pena. Erninia is a member of Morenci High Schools graduating class of 1953. One year later, in Santa Barbara, California, she was wedded to Richard Espinosa. He served in the military and Erminia traveled with him as he was stationed in places across the world including Germany, Spain and various locations in the United States. Her family was the most important thing in her life. As a mother and housewife she loved spending time with them. The birth of each new grandchild was a highlight in her life. Erminia was a catechism teacher and enjoyed attending mass, baking, cooking, sewing, doing word search puzzles and watching novelas. She was a huge NFL fan and could be heard cheering on her team from far away. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Espinosa, sons Raul Espinosa and Richard Espinosa Jr.; sisters Ophelia Esparza and Grace De Loera. She is survived by her children, Ralph Espinosa, Anna (Fred) Madrid, Michelle (Gilbert) Palma, Pat (Ray) Ogas, Renee (Adam) Peru, Gabriel (Alesia) Espinosa; and her sister, Irene De Loera. A public viewing for Erminia will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The Rosary prayer, lead by Deacon Vessels, will take place at 7:00 p.m. immediately following the viewing. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Rev. Father Edward Lucero as celebrant. Final interment will be in the Safford cemetery. Bereavement will be held at the Solomon American Legion following services at the cemetery.
