Ernestina Burrell

Ernestina Burrell, a compassionate and humble soul, passed away on June 11, 2023, at the age of 94. Born in San Jose, Az on September 27 1928 to Fred and Lenora Garcia, Tina Tina Bobalina—as she was affectionately called by her loved ones—spent her life devoted to her family and her Catholic faith. As a loving and thoughtful person, her dedication to her family was evident through her time spent as a homemaker, Cub Scout den mother, 4-H leader, and daycare provider. Her hobbies included puzzles, reading mysteries, sewing, spending time with her sisters, dancing, and attending church. As a wise woman, Ernestina understood the importance of family and love, as stated in the Bible: "Above all, let your love for one another be intense, because love covers a multitude of sins" (1 Peter 4:8) Tina touched the lives of all those who knew her. She is survived by her children, Carlos Burrell and Kelly Menefee. Grandchildren Michelle Burrell, Brittany Taylor, Kennedy Shepard, and son in law Mike Taylor, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Siblings Albert Garcia and Maryhelen Tellez. She has been reunited with her parents, Fred and Lenora Garcia; her siblings, Freddy Garcia and Dahlia Hodges; and her grandsons Eli and Chris Burrell, son in law Steve Menefee and former spouse Fred Burrell. As we remember and cherish the memories of Tina, her loving spirit will live on through her family and friends. Celebration of life for Tina and Fred Burrell will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Safford Arizona Friday July 7, 2023, rosary at 9:30am, mass at 10:30am, followed by interment at safford cemetery, 400 Discovery park Blvd. Luncheon to follow at Taylor residence, 1340 S Kelson Place, safford, AZ 85546
