Estel Lee Cox, 75, of Safford, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at his home in Safford, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 3, 1935 in Barnard, MO, to Millard Filmore Cox and Alice Mae Davis. He married Norma K. Schottel on March 2, 1956 in Kansas. Estel served his country in the U.S. Army and after he returned he owned and operated his own barber shop for many years. He loved to tinker, fix and invent things, he was a Jack of All Trades. Some of the most meaningful events of his life was when he adopted his two children, celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary, and the birth of his first great grandchild. He is survived by his wife Norma of Safford; son, Daniel (Damian) Cox of Safford; daughter, Sylvia (Mickey) Faunce of Safford; sister, Leona; six grandchildren, Jeff, Amber, Kris, Jake, Tyler, and Kaylee; and three great grandchildren, Bryce, Joclynn, and Deagan. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel, 112 East Main Street, Safford. Friends may call on Thursday, July 8, from 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services on Friday. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery. Family suggest donations be made to the Mt.
