Al Bezanson joined the Lord on 30 January 2017 from his home Virden New Mexico. Al is survived by his wife, Anne, daughter Debra, son Rick, and many grandkids. Al was born December 31, 1933 in Gentry, Arkansas to Fred and Virginia Bezanson.
The Bezanson family traveled to Ceres California. He married his high school sweetheart Valora Jean (Lewis) and shortly afterwards joined the US Navy, serving in the Korean War. While on duty his daughter Debbie was born in Ceres, and a year later his son Rick. After returning stateside Al started a most interesting career with the Bell Telephone company that took him from California to Winnemucca, Nevada and even Iran.
He loved hunting and was known across rural northern Nevada as the telephone man. He enjoyed a long drive to help the folks with their phone and mostly sharing a few stories of the last hunt and finding out how things were on the ranch. Al and Valora retired to Lander, Wyoming, where in a beautiful new setting joined by old friends and new, hunting and traveling made up their days.
Valora's struggle with cancer ended in April 2004. Al continued in Lander alone until one day at his favorite hunting spot he found occupied by a petite gal that was to be his second wife. Anne and Al were married in Lander on November 20, 2004 and joined their families to include Melanie, Derrick, Jennifer, Heather, and their families in Canada. Al and Anne traveled the west from Wyoming to Alaska, New Mexico to Saskatchewan, visiting family, worshipping with new friends and enjoying the outdoors.
We have so many happy memories of Al because he generously shared with everyone he met. His spirit of sharing with a smile was just one extraordinary quality enjoyed by all. He was our husband, father, grandfather, and friend and we loved him.
A memorial service to celebrate Al's life will be held at the Duncan Baptist Church on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. A service in Lander at the city park will be held on May 13, 2017.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Veterans Hospital in Tucson.
