Evelyn Barker Queenie Evelyn Grace Hansen Barker, 89, passed away May 27, 2008 in Sandy, Utah. Born April 13, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of Harvey and Emilie Hansen. She was of Danish heritage. Enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage to Willard Charles Barker. They married June 24, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah; he preceded her in death April 19, 2003. Evelyn was a big help on the family farm and managed Barker Valley Gas with her husband. She loved to garden, but her biggest love was fishing. She was a very talented seamstress, quilter and knitter and made afghans and slippers for the family. She and her family enjoyed their second home in Manila, Utah where they were members of the Lake Flaming Gorge Yacht Club. Survived by daughters, Sharon (Joe) Bills, Kathy (Richard) Zdunich; son, Paul (Carrie) Barker; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Vivian Youngberg; and her dog, Sammy. Preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Reinhold. We would like to thank the staff of Sunrise Assisted Living and Good Shepherd Home Care for their compassionate and loving care of Mom. Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Thursday, 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Friday, 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Taylorsville Cemetery.
