Evelyn R. Stacey, formerly of Clifton, AZ, passed away March 2, 2019 in Gilbert, AZ at the age of 94. She was born on February 8, 1925 in Waubay, South Dakota to parents John & Anna Rumpza Zakrzewski with siblings Esther, Ronald, Arnold, David, Donald, Raymond, Henry, Leonard, John, Art, Richard, Roger, Marie & Clara. She attended school at Hill Top 117 in Waubay, SD. On August 7, 1945, she married Robert G. Stacey in Sioux Falls, SD after Roberts honorable discharge from the military. The young couple packed up and moved to Arizona where they settled in Clifton. Their family soon grew with the birth of each child; Robert, Donald, Loretta, Roy, Linda and Lisa. Evelyn loved spending time in the garden, sewing, cooking, raising her children and later, spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends whenever she had the opportunity. Evelyn is survived by her children Donald (Ronnie) Stacey of Clifton, AZ, Loretta (Phil) Harris of Arlington, WA, Roy (Sue) Stacey of Duncan, AZ, Linda Stacey of Green Valley, AZ and Lisa Stoffle of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by her siblings Esther (George) Vanderloo of Sioux Falls, SD, Ronald (Marge) Zakrzewski of Mesa, AZ, Arnold (Judy) Zakrzewski of Harrisburg, SD, David (Rita) Zakrzewski of Sioux Falls, SD and Donald Zakrzewski of Minneapolis, MN, sisters-in-law Marjean and Carol Zakrzewski and grandchildren Michael, Kimberly, Sarah, Steven, Jorge, Alex, Monica, Dusty and Suzan, Rick, Josh, Jacob and Brittany, 32 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Anna Zakrzewski, her loving husband Robert G. Stacey, her son Robert "Butch" Stacey, her granddaughter Jennifer Stacey, her son-in-law Rick Stoffle, and her siblings; Raymond, Henry, Leonard, John, Art, Richard and Roger Zakrzewski, Marie Christiansen and Clara Anderson. A viewing and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Holy Cross Parish in Morenci, AZ beginning at 9:00 a.m. with Father Rudy Rosales as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Pima Cemetery in Pima, AZ at 2:30 p.m. also on Monday, March 11th. In lieu of flowers the Stacey family requests donations be made to Hospice.
